[INFO] SJ received SNSD’s trophy?

Image
Image

At asia song festi. ….the trophy wasnt for anything, it was for the special commentaries…

a funny incident happened after the boys received their trophy. hankyung was holding it and him and chul were studying the words on the thing and then chul suddenly burst out laughing and elbowed siwon hard (who was standing to his left) to look at their “findings”.

after that SiHanChul got really excited/agitated and the 3 of them practicaly went nuts for a few moments
before chul simply took the trophy from hankyung and went over to where snsd were standing
and he exchanged the thing with the one snsd received so apparently someone had mixed up the awards and gave the trophy with snsd’s name to the SJ boys instead and chul was the only person who found out (snsd received their “trophy” way before SJ).

[NEWS] DBSK’s Dispute, Causing Stir in Music Industry, “Not Someone Else’s Business”

As DBSK dispute continues downhill, the music industry has begun supervising their own. The possibility of a 2nd or 3rd DBSK dispute is causing a crisis in the music industry.Seeing the members they once created and nurtured to be top Asian singers, now fighting with their company is a bitter sight to see for the middle management executives. However, as Xiah Junsu and other members have revealed the unjust contract conditions, some are saying that this is the time to self-exam and improve. How is the contract conditions for groups other than DBSK.

Super Junior, Girl’s Generation, longest contract is 13 years

Other idol groups in SM entertainment is being targeted first. It was reported that for Super Junior, Girl’s Generation, and Shinee, contracts are different for each members but the contract periods are anywhere from 5 years to 13 years.

Because some members of Super Junior and Girl’s Generation have different debut years, their contract is individual. Before Kangin became a member of Super Junior, he was a VJ for a entertainment news program. Before the release of Girl’s generation album in 2007, member Sooyoung made debut in a duo ‘Route Oh” in 2002 under SM Japan so she signed a contract before the other members. Because the contracts are individual, earning distributions and schedule conditions are different for each member.

One Super Junior member spoke with IS on the phone stating, “even if I want to move to another company, the remaining terms of the contract and penalty for breaching the contract is far beyond than people imagine. Because we have a lot of members in our team, we have to divide our earnings into 1/13, so we do not make much money. Up until recently, SM tried to make it our responsibility to pay for our stylist but a senior member took courage and corrected it. There are feelings in the company that if you do something that the company doesn’t like, it is only your loss so even if we have complaints, we can’t express it well.”
It was reported that they had a meeting with each other after the DBSK dispute became a controversy.

Music producers state “they don’t even know the situations”

Another artist under SM Entertainment stated with affliction, “DBSK sunbae’s dispute is bitter to watch because it seems it our future is being shown. Trurthfully, there are too many things on my mind that I can’t concentrate when I’m performing on stage or doing other broadcasting schedules.”

For one group of singers under an entertainment company, although earning distributions are clear and there is strong confidence between the company, they signed a contract period for almost 10 years and are anxious that this might spark something in their way.

Jang Yoon jung and Park Hyun Bin also signed 10 year contract with their company and although Jewelry members have different contracts, members have been working under the same company for over 8 years. They stated that the problem is mutual distrust, not the contract period.

As the long period contracts are arising as a problem, music industry producers respond that they don’t even know what the situation is like. They stated that as singers debut younger and younger, it is becoming normal to start training elementary school kids and if companies continued to meet the demands of its artists, the company would not be able to survive.

One entertainment company president stated, “I am paying attention to how the provisional disposition will be ruled. I feel like singers do not consider the company’s perspective and are only considering these situations once they have become famous. I hope this will be an opportunity to eliminate troubles between singers and companies.”

SNSD, Kara, 4 Minute, 2NE1 to perform Super Junior and 2PM

On Inkigayo this week, girl groups will unite to perform Super Junior's Sorry Sorry and 2PM's Again and Again.

Performing members include SNSD's Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Jessica, Kara's Han Seung Yeon and Nicole, 4minute's Hyuna and Ji Hyun, and 2NE1's Dara and Minzy.

It look's like Inkigayo is trying to compete with Music Core's triple dose of SNSD. I can't wait to see the nine girls on stage performing the hit boy band songs. Reminds me of Boys Generation and Super Junior's performance of Gee except better, because this time I don't have to watch boys in colored skinny jeans.

[INFO] Super Junior and SNSD as models for SPAO

“If there’s ZARA for Spain, UNIQLO for Japan and GAP for America, then there is SPAO for Korea.”
Fashion business group E-Land announced its challenge with Japan’s UNIQLO with the launch of the global SPA brand “SPAO”. Produced based on SPA product plans, it’s the first time that a domestic fashion company is using the method of direct distribution and announcing a brand like “Global SPA”. E-Land’s “SPAO” was created by adding the english initial letter “O” (from “Original, OK, Oasis”) to “SPA”.

E-Land’s vice president Park Seungkyung said at a press conference on the 15th: “Fast planning, global sourcing and by concentrating in the gained capabilities of E-Land for the last 30 years, we’ve prepared “SPAO” since 2006. The first store with a space of 3300 m^2 will open in Seoul Myeongdong in October.” The goal is to achieve sales of 15,000,000,000 won with 5 stores this year and 1,000,000,000,000 won with 100 stores in 2012.

“SPAO” represents the “Korean UNIQLO”. With the same direct manufacturing method like UNIQLO does with the basic style, it maintains the quality and the prize level will be 20% cheaper compared to UNIQLO with prizes like 9900 won for a T-shirt, 25900 won for a shirt, 29900 won for a sweater, denim. Furthermore, designs and color tones matching Korean’s figure were emphasized and the strategy is to cover all the age groups with 11 separate categories, from children to middle age.

E-Land plans to raise the brand’s recognition and the design competition by working together with famous designers and running a star marketing. Especially with the establishment of a joint-venture company with SM Entertainment (E-Land 51%, SM 49%), it’ll advertise its products with So Nyuh Shi Dae, Super Junior as models and feature a “So Nyuh Shi Dae line” and a “Super Junior line”.

Vice president Park said: ” It provides the best capabilities to expand SPA with E-Land’s business strategy, and to aim at 3500 retail seller with about 50 brands and a low price strategy. With new releases of products every week and an independently built fast production system, I think that in 2011, we’ll leave UNIQLO behind in Korea.”
